Custom sending domains are available on Scale. Authentication proves that Slingshot is allowed to send notification emails for your domain.
Before you start
You need access to the DNS settings at your domain provider. If another person manages your domain, send them the records exactly as Slingshot displays them.
Add the domain
- Open Settings → Email settings.
- Find the custom sending domain section.
- Enter only the domain, without
https://, a path, orwwwunless Slingshot specifically asks for that subdomain. - Save the domain.
- Copy every DNS record shown by Slingshot into your DNS provider.
- Wait for DNS changes to publish.
- Return to Slingshot and select Verify.
DKIM and SPF records shown by Slingshot are required. DMARC is recommended for domain protection and visibility.
Use a sending subdomain
A subdomain such as updates.example.com can keep notification email configuration separate from employee inboxes. Use the exact value entered in Slingshot for every record.
Expected result
The domain status becomes verified. Send a test notification and inspect the visible sender before relying on it for live restocks.
