Use this checklist to make sure shoppers can sign up and receive a useful notification.

Before you start

You need permission to install apps and edit your Shopify theme. Have at least one product with an unavailable variant available for testing.

Launch checklist

  1. Install Slingshot from Shopify and open the app.
  2. Add your store name and business address under Settings → Store information.
  3. Review your sender name and reply-to address under Settings → Email settings.
  4. Open Customizations → Modal popup and review the signup form wording.
  5. Open Customizations → Email templates and review the notification.
  6. Add the Slingshot app block to your product template in the Shopify theme editor.
  7. Visit an unavailable product in your storefront and submit a test signup.
  8. Send yourself a test notification from the setup flow or email editor.
  9. Confirm the signup appears in Signups.

Expected result

The signup form appears only when the selected variant is unavailable. Your test signup is visible in Slingshot, and the test email uses the sender and design you configured.

Before promoting the feature

Check the form on both mobile and desktop. If your store uses more than one product template, add and test the Slingshot block on each template where you want it to appear.
